life + travel.
good day. seems every once and a while, i stop and reflect what has been going on in my world over here.
may 12 - i got to help one of our ranchers with her disrespect. we missed book study and she really wanted to be apart of book study. she wanted to quick smooth everything over so she wouldn't have to miss out. i had so much support from the other authorities 🤍 after lunch, we went to mr. robbs and loaded up some panels... we now have another round pen ! in the evening we went to an amish fishfry fundraiser ... the girls really enjoyed this !
may 13 - ms. wanita and i were on duty for the weekend. mr. todds were off ... ms. wanita was with the girls for a few hours in the afternoon so i could have some down time. we had a hotdog roast for supper:)
may 14 - mother's day ! 🌹 we went to church. we took the girls to tanyard creek for a picnic. we went on a short walk back to a waterfall. we waded in and some of the girls walked most of the way behind the waterfall. we got ice cream from crazy willy's ice cream. i was so glad that none of the girls had asked.. for if they had, i would have decided not to. in the evening, we were home and i had them paint something for their mothers. i took a picture of it and send it to their mothers. chica had her colt. (FINALLY) his name is high western boonedocks.. we call him boone.
may 15 - this was a fun day! i went to lowes and got the hanging plants that they donated.. and i then purchased a bunch of flowers to be planted ☀️
may 16 - the girls had counseling. we took a little walk and then went to iron horse coffee company. in my opinion, their coffee is not that great, but their cream sodas are really good !
may 17 - i had the day off. i took a drive to osage clayworks. it's about 1 and a half hours hours from here... the lady that mananged the store was born in modesto, so i thought that was pretty cool ! in the evening, ms katie and i went swimming.. picked up her dress from ms. jess' , and went for supper. we pulled off on the side of the road to pick some wildflowers ! :) after supper, we drove to the airport to pick up MS. JENNA ! a very happy night !
may 18 - ms. katie left to go to her little sister's graduation.
may 20 - in the afternoon, one of the ranchers and i planted all the flowers for the ranch. i had such a good time ! then i repotted most of my house plants, which was long overdue. we ate supper on the porch.. and it was just a really good day !
may 22 - counseling at ms. karma's. mr. marjo and ms. carrie spent most of the day here at the ranch. i had off in the afternoon. i went to mr. todd's for supper and ms. regina put button holes in for me. i am very thankful for all she does for me!
may 23 - ran a few errands. went paddleboarding with alicia in the late afternoon.. talked on the phone :) after the girls were in bed, ms. katie, ms. jenna, and i went and got frozen custard while ms. wanita stayed with the girls.
may 24 - ms. wanita left... in the evening, we picked up a girl who came and stayed a few days for a mentor interview. we drove some backroads while we waited for her to fly in.. then went and ate at our FAVORITE food truck !
may 25 - one of our ranchers had not been sitting in her doorway at 6:45 on wednesday. i had given her a chore for each minute she was late. (3 chores). she had failed to do them. on this thursday morning, i went up to do room check and after i checked her room, i handed her a paper with 6 chores and said she could come down stairs.. she got busy and it took her a good share of the morning... when she was done with her chores, she started her normal routine. then i made lunch. ms. shelley came to do life skills with the girls while we had authorities meeting. it was a hard day.
may 26 - one of our ranchers was being very disrespectful. she racked up a bunch of working time. each time she is disrespectful or does not look at us when she says 'yes ma'am' we added time. she has been sleeping outside until all her working time is finished. when i left her .. she was crying..
may 27 - i had off in the afternoon. ms. katie and i went to natural falls state park... and then had supper with ms. sharla at her house !
may 28 - i cooked a sunday dinner and we ate outside around our fire ring... over lunch old styles of dress were talked about 🙈 quiet time and chores... in the evening, we had pie irons and smores around the fire :)
may 29 - i spent a couple hours mowing our front hay field.. worked with our rancher that is paying off her disrespect. we cleaned the inside and out of the ex.
may 30 - counseling for the girls. the girls had received hobby lobby giftcards, and we took them shopping. i had told them to make a list of hobbies they could do at the ranch. some of the items they purchased were woodcarving set, bracelet making set, fabric to sew a dress, wax seals, and alot of stickers. :) i had so much fun shopping with them. ✨
may 31 - i left my ranch house and flew to my colorado home to see nae and to be there for her while she married the boy that stole her heart. janae and ced, ced's best men and brother came and picked my up in alamosa. back in the valley that i call home. 🤍 it was overcast and rainy. we did not know how the picnic that was planned would go.. but it rained as we were on our way to our picnic spot.. and then it stopped and we had a very good evening around the fire !
june 1 - a lowkey day.. went with ced and nae to get their marriage license. in the evening, i helped them figure out special seating..
june 2 - family and friends came over to our backyard for breakfast :) in the afternoon, janae, kristin, and i went to alamosa for pedicures and coffee. it was such a fun time ✨ i got the special seating paper ready for the ushers.. and kristin wrote out all the cards ... in the evening, we went to merlin's barn for supper. mark, rhoda, and their family put on the family supper and it was so yum ! we went to ball and i got to see some more of my people !
june 3 - kristin and i got up early and went to alamosa to finish getting things for the honeymoon basket.. merlin and rachelle put on breakfast for the family. then set up for the saturday night supper.. well, actually kristin and i washed all of janae's dishes :) one fun fact is that she thrifted most of her dishes.
at the ranch:
*june 1 - the authorities and ranchers put on a banquet supper for the girls' parents. after dinner, they put on a program for the parents and the parents support team
*june 2&3 - parent seminar. the girls went home on the 3rd for a two week home visit. when they come back, we will be having a new intake.
june 4 - happy wedding day to cedric and janae🤍 she was beautiful. and oh so happy.
she wore white. the bridesmaids, sisters, and moms wore different shades of blue. her friends wore a light pink. her wedding was so pretty.
june 5 - mom anna invited people over for breakfast. after everyone left, we packed up and went to the sand dunes. i hiked a ways up the dune. it gets windy. and you end up with blowing sand everywhere. we picniced in our backyard.
june 6 - time to say goodbye to the valley and people i love. rachel took me to denver.. i taught one of her boys, but sadly he wasn't home.
june 7 - slept in. went with ms. lora to rogers aquatic center and the spent the afternoon in the sun. ☀️ (also, i seen a mouse in our closet.)
june 8 - slept in and relaxed. in the afternoon i went swimming... and got to pack a few things for the weekend.
june 9 - headed to kansas to my 2nd cousins wedding. and an exciting thing is.. is my family was there. i got to SEE them ! :) and i got to see so many people from my california land.
june 10&11- spent them in western kansas hanging out and visiting with family and friends. and i got to meet some new people as well.
june 12 - i headed back to the ranch. on the way, i made a detour and had lunch with one of the girls that had graduated. when i left her house, i went to one of the rancher's houses that is home on home visit. we talked about how it has been going. when i left, my cup was so full 🤍 (i drank alot of coffee while i was there. her dad is in the coffee business... and i tried a couple different pour overs, a shaken americano with chocolate.. for the road, he made me an iced maple, coconut latte with oatmilk. it was so good ! ) i was buzzing. ha. it was so fun seeing where they live.
june 13 - washed my car. ms katie and i went to bentonville. i gave blood. ms. katie ran an errand. we made a few other stops and then went home to relax some more 😊 in the evening, we 3 mentors, ms. lora, ms. sharla, and ms. eddie went to mr. doug's for supper. i had such a fun time.
*God was so good to me while i was at home in colorado. i feel as though He protected me from some of the pain of watching someone very close marry their person. and the change that brings.
*ms. katie and i started this book called freedom in Christ. it helps me renounce lies, beliefs, and ways that i let satan have power over me.
