faith plants the seed, love makes it grow.

this last week and a half have been very good. what does that mean? well, i felt very overwhelmed, insecure, and quiet. but since then, i have settled in and become myself, which feels very good.

first, i will introduce you to everyone. Mr. Todd & Ms. Regina are the administrators/house parents. Ms. Sharla does the equine therapy. Ms. Lora is the therapist. Ms. Anna Marie Toews is the schoolteacher. Ms. Katie is the lead mentor. Ms. Jenna is the other volunteer/mentor.

i will give you an insight to what it is like here. the ranchers are strong sitting in their doorway at 6:45. a mentor does a quick room check. they then are given permission to do what they need to in the bathroom. after they are ready, they have house chores that need to be done. certain days of the week they help with horse chores.

monday/wednesday/friday is equine with ms. sharla. tuesday/thursday is school with ms. anna marie.

we have book study each weekday. we are assigned a portion to read out of a devotional book. then we go outside and read for 15-20 minutes. we all meet back in the living room and discuss what impressed us.

every weekday morning, for devotions, we each bring a verse from our personal devotions.

each monday afternoon the ranchers have trading post. they are given an allowance. they budget for savings, tithe, wants, and needs. they get to "shop" for wants and needs. then they have to balance each category.

this friday will be my first time being in charge of the ranch girls. i felt very overwhelmed but after talking with ms. jenna, i felt better :)

i get every tuesday afternoon/evening off and all day wednesday off. today, i left early and went hiking. it was a very beautiful hike.

ms. jenna left this morning for her sister's wedding. i am missing her already.

i now have a moment from yesterday where i seen God.

after sitting in on one of the ranchers therapy sessions, i went and sat down next to our other rancher. she was coloring. i asked her how she was and then asked her if she had finished coloring this picuture and i told her it was pretty. she said, "it's for you." she didn't know what this did for me. it made me tear up. it made me think back to before i came. i had a touch from God when i was wanting to make sure that coming to the ranch was what i should do. He gave me a reassurance of letting me know to just have faith. then the fact it talks about planting seeds made me think of what i decided to name my blog. it just really touched me.

i think that is all for now. i hope this gives you a glimpse of what goes on at the ranch.
